There's a new wildlife are to explore in Colorado, catering to hunters and anglers in Park County.
Collard Ranch State Wildlife Area opened to the public on August 29 following Colorado Parks and Wildlife's acquisition of the 1,860-acre property for $2 million in March of 2024. It's located about 10 miles northeast of the town of Fairplay along US Highway 285.
"We have been expanding access to public lands since I took office and I’m excited that Coloradans can now enjoy this great space in Park County including valleys, streams, and abundant wildlife," said Governor Jared Polis. "The outdoors is part of who we are, and Collard Ranch provides a lot of new opportunities for Coloradans and visitors to enjoy."
