KINGSTON — The future of the Memorial Centre, Portsmouth Olympic Harbour and Centre 70 could be determined by a upcoming “visioning exercise” to begin later this year.

The city is to begin consultations with community groups that use the three aging properties this fall.

City council approved the criteria for the visioning exercise Tuesday night.

“I really think we’re approaching this visioning exercise as an opportunity to really think about how these spaces and places want to be used by our community, what are the opportunities that we could align different services, operation models, etcetera, as opposed to a construction exercise where we’re really only talking about the build plan, the design concept,” Jennifer Campbell, commissioner of community services, told council.
