A public meeting is set to go Thursday in Allenford to talk about a potential solar farm.

Compass Greenfield Development wants to develop a 25 MWac agrivoltaics project on a new parcel of land on Blind Line and Allenford Road. The 60 acre solar farm area would connect to existing Hydro One infrastructure on Highway 21. It will not include a battery energy storage system (BESS).

The company says it will support agricultural activities and solar energy.

A community engagement meeting with Sauble River Agrivoltaics is set for Thursday, September 4th at the Allenford Community Centre at 6:30 p.m.

This would be the second parcel of land the company is looking to build a solar farm on in South Bruce Peninsula. The other is nearby at Bruce Road 14 and Pleasantview Drive.
