Alabama ranks as the second most stressful state to work in across the nation. With long commutes, poor sleep and rising financial pressures, workers in Alabama are feeling the strain more than most Americans.

How these rankings were determined

The 2025 workplace stress ranking analyzed all 50 U.S. states using multiple key factors that contribute to employee stress. Data was gathered from publicly available sources, including government reports, labor statistics and health surveys.
