NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Vanderbilt Commodores started the 2025-2026 college football season with a bang in beating Charleston Southern, 45-3, in Nashville. Now, they turn their attention to week two, which features a Power 4 matchup on the road at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

The Commodores and the Hokies met a season ago in week one at FirstBank Stadium. It was a game that came down to the wire and ended 34-27 in Vanderbilt's favor in overtime.

One of the constants from last year's Virginia Tech team that remains this season is quarterback Kyron Drones. He had his 2024 season-high 322 passing yards against the Commodores.
