The sculpture, which is on display at Pinery’s visitor centre, was created by 130 students from local schools who participated in the Grand Bend Art Centre’s pottery program through Paint Ontario in 2024. Article content

“We had our little artists create a turtle, which they then left behind for us and a group of volunteers to walk through all the stages of clay,” said art centre pottery instructor Judy Gerber in an online video. “We stained, glazed and fired all the turtles in preparation for our sculpture.”
