A luxury yacht's disastrous maiden voyage has been caught on camera, with the crew forced to leap overboard as it began to capsize.

The $1.5 million vessel was in the water off the coast of Turkey for just minutes before it began to slowly tip over.

Media reports identified the yacht as the Dolce Vento.

Several people were seen jumping off the vessel as it capsized, with Boat International reporting the owner, captain, and two crew members were able to escape without injury.

The accident has been attributed to a stabilising issue.

An investigation into the incident is reportedly underway.
