LONGVIEW — A fire broke out at a two-story, mixed-use building Tuesday morning, prompting the evacuation of tenants.

Crews responded at about 12:30 a.m. to the building in the 1800 block of Washington Way, which neighbors the Divine Mart, per the Longview Fire Department’s Facebook page.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a fire in one of the first-floor businesses and worked with police in evacuating tenants.

The blaze was extinguished minutes after arriving at the scene, but other units were exposed to smoke, according to a news release.

The fire burned for a while before it was reported, Longview battalion Chief Matt Amos said in the release.
