OAKLEY, Ill. (WAND) - A 68-year-old Oakley man is dead after a motorcycle accident Wednesday morning.

The Macon County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that it received a report at 7 a.m. Sept. 3 of an accident on Angle Crossing Road and Stare Road.

Deputies found a motorcycle rider who had gone off the road and was then taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital.

While there, the sheriff's office said that the man's condition worsened, and he had to be airlifted to Springfield Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

The Sangamon County Coroner's Office is waiting to confirm the motorcyclist's name.

The accident is under investigation by the Macon County Sheriff.
