The Colorado State Fair has apologized for what some say was a racy pole dance routine that shouldn’t have been staged.
The state fair, located in Pueblo, said the act was organized by Wildfire Belly Dance Company, a third-party stage production vendor. According to the company, their artistic expression dancers have performed in past years without incident.
A video shared to social media showed a woman in a black one-piece swimsuit dancing around a pole located on the fairgrounds as a seated crowd watches.
“I was a little shocked that this is happening out of there,” fair attendee Nolan Babin told Fox Denver affiliate KDVR .
Another fairgoer said the act was “inappropriate for kids, and this is a kids’ location.”
