Reece James has sent an emotional message to Ben Chilwell after the ‘bomb squad’ member was sold to Chelsea’s partner club Strasbourg.

The Blues were keen to offload Chilwell in the summer transfer window with the English left-back eventually joining Liam Rosenior’s side, who like Chelsea are also owned by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Chelsea captain James has been left sad to see Chilwell leave Stamford Bridge after their time playing together for the west London club.

James and Chilwell become close after helping Chelsea win the 2020-21 Champions League and also due to the fact that they both struggled with significant injuries.

‘Ma boy man,’ James posted on his Instagram story on Wednesday night. ‘We’ve been through so much together.
