JENNINGS, La. (KPLC) - A Jennings man is facing several attempted murder charges after a house was hit with gunfire, police said.
Six to eight shots were fired at a home on Wilbert D. Rochelle Avenue overnight, Jennings Police Chief Danny Semmes said. Eight people were in the home, including a young child, and no one was injured.
Jomarick Sellers, 18, was booked into jail this morning in connection with the shooting, Chief Semmes said. He faces the following charges:
Attempted first-degree murder (eight counts)
Aggravated assault with a firearm
Aggravated flight from an officer
Simple escape.
Semmes said he will release more information about the investigation Thursday morning.
