GRAND FORKS — A Grand Forks man who was arrested in Fargo this week after police said he shot another man made his first court appearance Wednesday, Sept. 3.

De’Angelo Cortez Brent, 28, is facing a total of five charges in connection with the early Sunday morning shooting of Antonio Delon Locke, of East Grand Forks, at a home in downtown Grand Forks. A nearby door camera caught the sound of nine gunshots in 10 seconds.

The most serious charge Brent is facing is attempted murder. He is accused of shooting Locke multiple times. Locke remains hospitalized.

"While the defendant initially shot rounds from a gun from a vehicle he then exited that vehicle and continued to pursue the victim," said Christopher Skjerven, Grand Forks County assistant state's attorney.
