A person was stabbed on a Metro bus in North Hollywood Wednesday afternoon.

The stabbing was reported at about 12:15 p.m. at Tujunga Avenue and Chandler Boulevard, according to Officer Chaves of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Metro said in a statement that the victim on the G Line was stabbed by another passenger.

"The Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department responded immediately, and the suspect was detained," Metro said. "The victim has been transported to a local hospital in unknown condition."

The suspected assailant is in custody, police said, though they released no details about them.
