KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Neighbors’ concerns are growing after a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in the middle of a school day Tuesday afternoon near James A. Reed Park.

KCPD said 15-year-old Isaiah Wilson was shot near 88th Place and James A. Reed Road on Tuesday afternoon near a park.

They believe he was hit by a stray bullet and said he later died at a hospital.

KCPD pointed KCTV5 to its online crime map, which shows they’ve responded to six incidents last month near James A. Reed Park.

Exactly a week ago, it shows police responded to an aggravated assault near Karlous Kalu’s house.

Kalu said he’s lived in the neighborhood for 35 years.

“When my kids were young, I took them there to play. When my kids had their kids, my grandkids, I took them there to play.”
