CHARDON, Ohio — A Willowick man has been indicted by a Geauga County grand jury in the June shooting death of his ex-wife outside her Chardon home, authorities said.

Steven A. Kurzinger, 36, was indicted Wednesday in Geauga County Common Pleas Court on charges of aggravated murder, murder and having weapons while under disability.

The charges stem from the June 25 killing of Alexandra Kurzinger on Irma Drive. Officers responded to a 911 call shortly after 9 p.m. from a resident who reported hearing a gunshot and seeing a woman in a doorway, police said.

Officers found Alexandra Kurzinger with a gunshot wound, and she was pronounced dead at the scene by the Chardon Fire Department.
