MISSOULA — Alfredo Villa, who earned Pioneer League Pitcher of the Year honors for the Missoula PaddleHeads in 2023, is back with the team after being acquired in a trade earlier this week.

The deal was made with the Ottawa (Canada) Titans for future considerations. With Zootown's pro baseball team slated to host a playoff series next week, the move reflects its committment to garner a Pioneer League championship for the first time since 2021.

Ottawa completed its season on Sunday and did not qualify for the Frontier League playoffs, opening the door for the deal. The 28-year-old Villa enjoyed a solid season in the Titans' starting rotation, finishing 10-4 with 98 strikeouts in 93 innings.
