In a post to X, state police said she had been found and the missing person advisory had been canceled.
Pittsburgh's Action News 4 sought more information and spoke with the Fayette County District Attorney, who confirmed the girl had been found dead.
Later on Thursday morning, state police released additional information saying Eutsey had been found partially submerged in the Youghiogheny River near Smithton.
Police said Kourtney Malinda Eutsey, 31, of Dunbar, described by the district attorney as the girl's "adoptive parent," is being charged with criminal homicide due to her alleged involvement in the child's death.
