TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo and Governor Ron DeSantis announced they want Florida to be the first state with no vaccine mandates. The medical community is reacting to this massive announcement.
Right now, children are required to have certain shots before enrolling in schools, like Measles, Tetanus, Chickenpox, Hepatitis b, and Polio. Ladapo said there's no timetable for the mandate lift. He said some vaccine requirements can be lifted now, and others need state lawmaker approval before being removed.
Ladapo said giving residents freedom to choose what's in their bodies is the main priority.
