KIMBERLEY, British Columbia — Authorities have confirmed the recovery of two hikers' bodies, while a third individual is presumed dead after a tragic incident at Meachen Creek Falls. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Kimberley reported that they received an SOS signal on Monday indicating that three hikers had fallen over the waterfall.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a 68-year-old woman approximately halfway down the falls. However, the search for the other two hikers was initially unsuccessful.

On Wednesday, the RCMP announced that a second victim, a 35-year-old woman, had also been found deceased. Efforts are currently underway to recover her body. Meanwhile, search operations continue for a 35-year-old man who is presumed dead following the incident.

The RCMP stated that they are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall, but they do not believe the deaths to be suspicious. The tragic event has raised concerns about safety in the area, prompting authorities to remind outdoor enthusiasts to exercise caution when hiking near waterfalls.
