The Toronto Blue Jays staged a remarkable comeback against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night, winning 13-9 at Great American Ball Park. After falling behind 5-0 in the second inning, the Blue Jays' offense exploded, scoring in every inning for the remainder of the game, including five home runs.

Shane Bieber, making his third start since returning from elbow surgery, initially looked sharp. He retired the Reds in the first inning on just 10 pitches. However, the second inning proved challenging as he surrendered five runs on five hits, including his first walk with the Blue Jays. Despite the rough inning, Bieber regained his composure, retiring 11 consecutive batters after the second.

The Blue Jays responded to the early deficit with a powerful offensive display. George Springer hit the first home run in the third inning, followed by back-to-back homers from Daulton Varsho and Alejandro Kirk in the fourth. Addison Barger tied the game with a two-run shot in the fifth, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. followed with a go-ahead home run, giving the Blue Jays a 6-5 lead.

Bieber finished the game with a solid performance, allowing no hits after the second inning and completing 98 pitches. His ability to bounce back was a positive sign for the team as they prepare for more critical games ahead.

The Blue Jays' bullpen had a mixed performance. Ryan Borucki struggled, and Louis Varland allowed three runs. However, Brendon Little entered in the eighth inning and secured the final out with a strikeout. Jeff Hoffman pitched a clean ninth inning, helping the Blue Jays secure the win and take the series 2-1.

Every player in the starting lineup, except Bo Bichette, recorded at least one hit. Guerrero Jr. showed no lingering effects from a previous hamstring issue, hitting his first home run since August 17. Barger also had a standout night, driving in four runs and hitting his first home run since August 10.

Looking ahead, the Blue Jays will have an off day before facing the New York Yankees in a three-game series starting Friday. The team previously took six of seven games against the Yankees in Toronto earlier this season.
