CHICAGO - A man was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection to an argument that turned violent in May.

What we know:

Chad Brooks, 47, of Alsip, was charged with one felony count of first-degree murder. He was arrested by police on Tuesday in the 3900 block of W. 115th Place in Alsip, Ill.

He was identified as the person who shot and seriously injured a 37-year-old man on May 25.

The backstory:

A gunman shot and injured a man driving away after an argument on Chicago’s South Side on Sunday night.

The shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. in the 500 block of East 75th Street in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department.

A 37-year-old man was in a verbal argument with an unknown male offender on the sidewalk.
