A wildfire in Fresno County has consumed more than 12,092 acres near Jacalitos Creek Road near Coalinga and remains fully uncontained, officials said Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday morning, CalFire reported the fire reached 5,000 acres.

The Salt 14-2 Fire, which started on Tuesday, is burning in a remote area with steep terrain and limited access, making containment challenging, CalFire reported.

Strong winds and uphill runs of the fire are further complicating suppression efforts.

Evacuation Orders, Warnings

Evacuation orders have been issued for zones P18B, P25, P27A, and P28 while warnings are in place for P18A, P24B, and P27B.
