SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are searching for a group of smash-and-grab suspects after they targeted a jewelry store inside a mall in Sherman Oaks.

It happened Wednesday afternoon at Kristof's Classic Jewelers inside the Westfield Fashion Square mall on Riverside Drive.

Details are limited, but police said between five and six suspects were spotted but left by the time officers arrived.

Their vehicle was found in Van Nuys, according to police, but the suspects remain at large. It's unclear if the suspects got away with any merchandise or if any weapons were involved.

The incident remains under investigation.
