James Franklin said after the Nevada win that sixth-year senior defensive end Zuriah Fisher was close to playing despite being ruled out in pregame.
Fisher, who’s dealt with a pair of season-ending injuries in his career, was banged up in training camp. But he arrived at Beaver Stadium excited and ready to play, Franklin said, before the staff held him out. Franklin cited a desire to get more practice reps under Fisher’s belt before throwing him into action.
