It’s been a slow start for the Windsor Spitfires.
Windsor was the last of the 20 teams in the Ontario Hockey League to open camp. Now, the club will be the final team to hit exhibition play.
Two weeks out from the opening of the regular season, the Spitfires are in Flint on Friday to play the Firebirds at 7:05 p.m. On Sunday, the Spitfires head to Chatham to face the Saginaw Spirit at the Memorial Arena at 2:05 p.m.
What’s behind the late starts?
With 23 players on the current roster that saw some playing time with the club a year ago, second-year head coach Greg Walters said there hasn’t been the need to rush through camp.
