HELENA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Helena Police want parents to be aware of a disturbing trend that could be threatening their child’s safety.

“Angry. Worried. Fearful for my son,” that is how father and Helena Police Detective Jason Davis described the threat.

He says his 9-year-old son plays video games, under his supervision, but that is not stopping him from having hard conversations this week.

“Last night, we had a discussion about the 764 group,” Davis said. “They are a nihilistic, terrorist, extreme group. It started several years ago in Texas by a juvenile, a teenager, and they target and exploit like-minded children.”

The detective said they are after children struggling with mental health challenges.
