A man who fatally struck a single mother while driving "blind drunk" has broken down in court as the victim's family and friends spoke of their ongoing pain.

Brett David Eddy pleaded guilty in Brisbane Supreme Court on Friday to the manslaughter of Tash Raven at the Hervey Bay suburb of Urangan, on Queensland's Fraser Coast, on May 25, 2024.

The 43-year-old Ms Raven had been walking home after a night out when Eddy's vehicle mounted the road shoulder at 11.47pm and struck her at more than 160km/h, causing parts of her body to be scattered over a 100-metre area.

Eddy, 42, also pleaded guilty to two counts of dangerous driving while speeding and intoxicated, failure to render assistance, driving while disqualified and performing a burnout.
