In a world of outrageous culinary endeavors, a New Jersey restaurant is standing out with a daring, deep-fried menu item.

The Shannon Rose , an Irish pub with locations in Clifton and Ramsey is serving up a dish that claims to be so delicious that it’s deadly — a deep-fried entree aptly named the “murder burger.”

The one-inch thick, eight-ounce burger patty is cooked on the grill and then topped with jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, pickles, American and pepper jack cheese, ketchup and Thousand Island on a brioche bun. Then the whole thing, bun and all, is coated in a beer batter (made with Harp Irish lager) and tossed into a deep-fryer.

The murder burger ($18.50) has been on Shannon Rose’s menu since the restaurant’s inception in 2007. Executive chef Eric Dewes told NJ Advance Media it was
