DALLAS — The 2026 FIFA World Cup is just around the corner, folks!

The biggest World Cup in history will be here before you know it.

The field has been increased from 32 to 48 for the first time since 1998.

As host nations, the United States, Mexico and Canada automatically qualify for the tournament. In the March 2025 window, we started seeing non-host nations qualify for the World Cup. The first to accomplish this feat was Japan on March 20 . By the end of the March qualification window, four more had punched their tickets.

In the June qualification window, five more teams clinched qualification, bringing the total to 13 teams out of the 48.

The next opportunity for nations to clinch their World Cup berths is in the fall window of September, October and November window. After that
