$4.9 million to help rebuild Hyde County schools
Classroom areas remain unusable after Dorian damage

This week, State Superintendent Mark Johnson and officials at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) informed Hyde County Schools that NCDPI would be providing $4.9 million to the school district to assist in the recovery from Hurricane Dorian.
Hyde County Schools Superintendent Steve Basnight was notified on Feb. 25 of the reallocation of funds from a $91.5 million 2018 appropriation by the General Assembly to the NCDPI for hurricane disaster relief.
