Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia have placed restrictions on the importation of unprocessed Tasmanian potatoes, following the island state's outbreak of mop-top virus.
The virus poses no risk to human health but distorts the skin and flesh of potatoes and it can significantly impact yield for farmers.
Since the initial detection in July, the disease has been found on eight different sites across Tasmania.
The Tasmanian government confirmed on Friday the three mainland states had "established new conditions" on the importation of unprocessed potatoes into their states.
The state's Minister for Primary Industries, Gavin Pearce, stressed this was not a "blanket ban" on Tasmanian potatoes and some exports would continue.
