Richard Goyder will step down as AFL Commission chairman in March after nine years at the helm of the sport’s organising body, abandoning his plans to seek another term.

Goyder has told club presidents in recent weeks he would not seek another term as chairman of the organising body of the country’s largest sporting code, three sources with knowledge of the matter told AFR Weekend on condition of anonymity because no announcement has been made.
