The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers are set to play their Week 1 game in São Paolo, Brazil, marking the second consecutive season the NFL has staged a game in Brazil.
The NFL has also landed a prominent musical act to provide halftime entertainment as part of its overseas showcase.
The NFL announced on Aug. 14 that Karol G will perform the halftime show at the Chiefs vs. Chargers game. The international pop star expressed excitement about being part of the event, which will be broadcast on YouTube.
"I'm so excited to be part of YouTube’s first-ever NFL live broadcast, it’s truly an honor and a moment I’m so proud to be part of," Karol G said in a statement. "I’ve watched many NFL halftime shows over the years and now having this opportunity to bring my music to this global stage means the world to me. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in São Paulo and fans all around the world."

Karol G is a Colombian singer-songwriter who has won one Grammy Award, six Latin Grammy Awards and five Billboard Music Awards all while amassing more than 30 billion views on YouTube.
Karol G – whose moniker is a stage name for Carolina Giraldo Navarro – began her music career at the age of 14, when she appeared on the Colombian version of "The X Factor." She later began posting covers of songs on YouTube in the hopes of being discovered.
Karol G recorded music from 2007 to 2016 and studied at the University of Antioquia during that time. Her breakthrough did not come until 2017, when she released her song "Ahora Me Llama" in collaboration with Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny.
Since then, Karol G has released five studio albums – including 2025's "Tropicoqueta" – and has collaborated with artists such as Shakira, Becky G and Nicki Minaj.

Is Karol G performing Super Bowl halftime show?
No, the NFL has not yet announced its halftime entertainment for Super Bowl 60. Karol G is only confirmed to be performing at halftime of the Chiefs vs. Chargers game Week 1 in Brazil.
Last year, the NFL announced Kendrick Lamar as the halftime entertainment on Sept. 8. The league has not yet revealed a timeline for a decision about its Super Bowl 60 halftime show.
