Oregon stargazers are in for a treat as September's full moon will feature a total lunar eclipse, a phenomenon known as a blood moon.

The September 2025 full moon, also known as the harvest moon, will appear with a reddish hue as it undergoes a total lunar eclipse between Sept. 7-8.

The blood moon will be visible from the ground, weather permitting, so Oregonians won't need any special equipment to see it.
