Five determined swimmers took to the waters of the Ottawa River on Saturday, August 9 in the 40th annual Kiwanis Double Cross, raising roughly $6,000 to support programs for children and youth. Article content
The event, a summer tradition since 1984, saw three participants take on the roughly five-kilometre trip from Desjardinsville, Quebec to Pembroke Waterfront Park on the Ontario side while two others did laps around the marker buoys at the mouth of the Pembroke marina. Article content
