Fremantle’s potential semifinal opponents have been locked in after Geelong blitzed Brisbane to secure a prelim berth, while a star Lion went down with injury.

Geelong dominated for most of the night, but it wasn’t until the third quarter that they put their foot down, kicking five goals to two to break away from the Lions on their way to a 16.16 (112)to 11.8 (74) win in front of 86,364 at the MCG on Friday night.

It means the Dockers will travel to the Gabba to face the reigning premiers in the second semifinal if they can take care of Gold Coast on Saturday night.

The Lions’ loss was compounded by an injury to two-time Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale, who hobbled off midway through the last quarter with ice strapped around his calf, ending his night.
