A new symbol of recognition will soon be part of the Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall of Fame, one that honours not only athletic excellence but also cultural identity and resilience.
Beginning this year, a golden eagle feather marker will be displayed beside the names of Indigenous inductees on the Hall of Fame wall at the Northern Community Centre. The initiative is aimed at acknowledging the achievements and heritage of Indigenous athletes in the region.
