VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) - A jury found a man guilty in connection to a 2023 homicide in Vicksburg.

The Vicksburg Post reported Kammeron Williams, 21, was found guilty on murder on September 3, 2025. He was sentenced to life in prison.

The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of Martha Street on June 1, 2023, just after 8:00 p.m. Investigators said Williams, Dapeytric Coleman and others were playing basketball when an argument began over betting on the game.

Police said Williams went to his truck and retrieved a gun. They said Coleman grabbed a gun from another person's waistband.
