SPENCER, Iowa ( KUOO ) - Spencer’s Long Term Recovery Group updated City Council about its recent work.

Megan Hanges with the recovery group said they recently distributed 125 new mattresses to flood victims donated by a manufacturer in Arizona.

Hanges said outside groups continue to assist flood victims with home repairs.

“We currently have a team in town working on five home repair projects right now. These are homes that have drywall work, some framing, shower repair, things like that in a flood-affected home,“ said Hanges.

More work is scheduled for the future with around 60 volunteers from Arizona, Wisconsin and other states coming to assist in repairs.
