PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The wife of the man killed in a downtown Portland road rage shooting has filed a $40 million wrongful death suit against Uber, Multnomah County and her husband's convicted killer, Geoffrey Hammond.
The road rage incident happened on October 9, 2023, when Hammond, while driving for Uber, was partially blocking traffic at an intersection outside of downtown Portland’s Moxy Hotel. A man later identified as Ryan Martin pulled up behind Hammond’s car, according to court documents.
The pair flipped each other off, and Martin swerved around Hammond’s car, stopping his car on the other side of the intersection. He then got out to confront Hammond, documents said.
