AUSTIN (KXAN) — They are some of the first student athletes on the field for Texas Longhorns game days. The Texas Spirit program plays an important role — getting the crowd involved and keeping the energy high.

The Texas Spirit program is made up of over 130 students on four squads, all led by Blair Taylor, director of the Spirit Program and head coach of Texas Cheer & Pom: co-ed cheer, all-girl cheer, pom (dance) and mascots (HookEm and crew).
