DUNBAR TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

The custodial guardian of a Fayette County 9-year-old who was found dead has overdosed, according to District Attorney Michael Aubele.

Sarah Shipley is alive after she overdosed inside the home in Dunbar Township, Friday morning, Aubele confirmed to Pittsburgh's Action News 4.

Officials say Shipley was the custodial guardian of 9-year-old Renesmay Eutsey.

Renesmay was reported missing on Wednesday and later found dead in the Youghiogheny River. A criminal complaint detailed disturbing allegations that led to homicide charges against Kourtney Eutsey in connection with her death.
