NORFOLK, Va. — Hampton Roads Transit will offer free rides on The Tide light rail on Saturday to help fans get to Norfolk State University football and Norfolk Tides baseball games.
Both teams kick off within minutes of each other, with the Spartans playing at 6 p.m. and the Tides starting at 6:35 p.m., which is expected to draw larger-than-usual crowds.
With limited parking around Dick Price Stadium and Harbor Park, HRT is partnering with the City of Norfolk, NSU, and the Tides to make it easier for fans to get to the games.
Fans can park for free at park-and-ride lots at Newtown Road Station, Military Highway Station, or behind the EVMC/Fort Norfolk Station, then catch a free train to the stadiums. The Newtown Road lot fills quickly, so other options are recommended.
