HAYWARD — A man has been charged with murder in the Aug. 22 fatal shooting of another man at a homeless encampment, according to authorities and court documents.

The suspect, Rosario Raul Rodriguez Cazares, 49, is charged in the killing of a 43-year-old man, identified in court documents as Ignacio Berber Zavala.

The shooting happened about 8 p.m. Aug. 22 at the homeless encampment along a railroad right-of-way in the 30000 block of San Antonio Street. Authorities said both men lived at the camp and had been involved in a dispute of some kind.

A witness told police Berber Zavala ran into the camp followed by two men, one later identified as Rodriguez Cazares.
