It’s been exactly six weeks since the last time we saw Aaron Judge grab a glove and take the field for the Yankees. The Yankees’ captain had been seen wincing in the outfield at Rogers Centre a few nights prior, but returned to the field to start a series with the Phillies. The next day, he was out of the lineup for just the second time all season and it was revealed that he was undergoing testing on his elbow. A few hours later, we learned that the hulking slugger had a right flexor strain and would go on the injured list.

Judge’s IL stint wouldn’t last long, but he would be shut down from the throwing for several weeks. When he returned on August 5th in Arlington, he was reduced to designated hitter, as the Yankees had to get creative with the slow-moving Giancarlo Stanton to keep both
