The Gary Community School Corp. unveiled its proposed $76.3 million budget for 2026 during Thursday's school board meeting.

The spending plan is just over $300,000 more than the nearly $76 million certified budget for this year .

The budget proposal, presented by Sean McGill of Baker Tilly, includes $32.2 million allocated to the education fund, used to cover teacher salaries. An expected $22.2 million will be allocated to the operations fund, which covers school operational expenses, including building maintenance, transportation and salaries for administrators and other non-teaching staff.
