WAYLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Football season is officially underway and that means an increase in sports betting.

Gun Lake Casino Resort says football is the most popular sport customers bet on and the interest is growing.

Brian Decorah is the general manager of the tribal casino, which has expanded its sport betting business.

“Sports betting is growing not just here but across the country. A lot of folks have to be really weary of illegal sports book operations,” Decorah said.

The casino is seeing interest growing at the onsite sports book, 131 Sportsbar and Lounge, and through the Play Gun Lake app.

“People love betting on sports. One for their favorite team, they kind of bet with their heart sometimes, but sometimes people just bet on games to make it more interesting,” Decorah
