The Royal Canadian Navy vessel HMCS Margaret Brooke — part of the country’s “first line of defence in the Arctic” — will be visiting Owen Sound on Oct. 4 and 5 and will be open for public tours.
HMCS Margaret Brooke is a Harry DeWolf-class Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessel, designed for operations in polar regions and other extreme climates, information from National Defence says.

The 103-metre-long DeWolf-class ships are the navy’s “response to increased competition and traffic in Canada’s exclusive economic zone along the Northwest Passage, and enhances our maritime surveillance capabilities in the region.”
