PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Friday is showing a transition from a relatively moist weather pattern at the surface to drier weather for the weekend, especially by Sunday afternoon. The last remaining vestiges of tropical moisture are being swept eastward out of the state by a trough of low pressure located off the west coast.
As that scouring takes place on Friday, there will still be isolated storms in the mountains and in southeast Arizona. There’s also a less than 20% chance for a pop-up shower around the Valley during the overnight hours.
Overnight lows will be around 80 in midtown Phoenix and in the 70s around much of the rest of the Valley.
